MILITARY HONORS by the PIPES

Our Mission

 MILITARY HONORS by the PIPES is an Oregon non-profit organization whose mission is providing a great highland bagpiper for funeral services and ceremonies where Military Honors are appropriate.  These pipers are provided at no cost to the families and honor over 1,000 Oregon veterans annually. We are privileged to be a part of ceremonies that honor America’s true heroes.  

Brief History

John Pierson started playing the Great Highland Bagpipes in 2003 as a way of honoring the ten men he served and flew with in the U.S. Air Force that were killed in the line of duty.  In 2012 piper Mark McIntire joined him in founding MILITARY HONORS by the PIPES, Inc. in order to honor all who have served and sacrificed for our country.   The two pipers honored 24 veterans the first year and now ten pipers are honoring 1,000 veterans annually.
